I have some TERRIFIC news for HEB shoppers -- as of April 6, 2015, we have a new HEB coupon policy, and it actually will make couponing better and easier at HEB grocery stores!
I will cover the most important changes to the HEB coupon policy below, but it's really important that you go print a copy of the complete policy for your binder.
It can often take time for word of changes to roll out to cashiers, and this way you will be prepared and ready to advocate for yourself at checkout!
And what is the most important change, you might ask? Well, it's official -- HEB has now stated that PIGGYBACKING is a go right there in the coupon policy!
We have been able to piggyback coupons for some time, but it was really dependent on finding stores who were coupon-savvy and understood that piggybacking is not the same thing as stacking. (And before anyone asks, stacking is still not allowed at HEB.)
Now we have official language direct from corporate to show cashiers or managers who don't understand the concept!
Furthermore, HEB also specifically states that threshold coupons, which they call 'Your Basket' coupons can also be combined with item-level coupons (manufacturer coupons) if all other requirements have been met.
Here's the screenshot of the rules for everyone:
You can check out my complete guide to piggybacking here for more information on how this works. You can also check out some of my favorite current piggybacking deals here.
And I also have a how-to guide to basket coupons here for you!
Again, I really suggest you print a copy of the complete policy or save the policy directly on your phone, because I guarantee we know about this before many cashiers will.
If you're as thrilled as I am about this news and clarification, be sure to go tell HEB on their Facebook page. I don't work for them, but I know chains usually hear from shoppers when they're upset, so flooding them with some deserved love would be a nice change of pace!
Let's have a happy dance!

ReplyDeleteHEB has spoiled me... HEB already has some of the lowest prices... I found this out the hard way when I traveled up North and forgot my hygiene products... had to to pay as much as 50% more... I was so mad... guess they have they had to pass the union wages onto the customer.... LOL... I'm traveling up North again tomorrow and got all my hygiene products at HEB tonight...
