Has HEB quietly ended their catalina program with Proctor & Gamble?
I just looked at the upcoming April 26 HEB weekly ad, and instead of a P&G catalina promotion, HEB is advertising $30 worth of yellow coupon discounts available on select P&G products.
And when I went back to research this, I realized that we haven't actually had a P&G catalina promotion since December 28, 2016!
Of course, HEB is under no obligation to *announce* changes to their promotional campaigns like this.
And it's possible that the majority of HEB customers don't even realize there's been a change.
HEB ran a similar ad several weeks ago, featuring $30 worth of yellow coupons, and many readers thought it was the catalina promotion, because the in-store signage looked so similar!
But I am a little sad about the loss of this particular program.
I personally only buy P&G brands at HEB (especially personal care and beauty products) when there is an active coupon + catalina promotion happening.
Otherwise, I tend to buy these brands at CVS to take advantage of their coupon + Extra Bucks offers!
What about you? Would you miss the P&G catalina promotions if it turns out they are gone for good?
Would you change your buying habits at HEB as a result? Or do you find catalina promotions overall too complicated to bother with?
I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments! (And since I know HEB corporate reads this blog as well, it would also be a great way to express your thoughts to the company.)

I was waiting for this and thought it was overdue. Too bad for HEB. Ill be taking my business back to Walgreens or CVS. Maybe Target, if they start stocking their shelves.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Jenn and previous poster. I've been waiting to take advantage of the catalina promotion and I am VERY SAD it's not going to be around for April. I, too, will go to CVS for their deals on P&G if HEB won't do the catalina.
ReplyDeletenoooo this was the only time/place I bought my charmin. Unless the yellow q saving end up being equal to what I'd get with the cat, I guess i'm gonna have to start paying attention to TP deals elsewhere :(
ReplyDeleteIll keep buying at heb. Cvs deals are like black friday, have to go early when they open and still a lot of people then they run out of stuff and have to wait days later for them to stock.
ReplyDeleteI was waiting for this catalina again will have to do my PNG shopping at CVS.
ReplyDeleteLike others, I've been waiting for the next p&g catalina for a while now. I'm disappointed because that's the only time I buy this brand at heb.
ReplyDeleteSad face here. I so look forward to this catalina. I stock up several times on that deal, diapers, Tide, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. :(

It is sad to think that HEB has ended their p&g promotion.. That was when I would stock up on my favorite p&g product.. I will have to take my business elsewhere. Have to stretch my dollar these days... sorry HEB
ReplyDeleteThe HEB ad says the P&G coupons are basket coupons like buy 3, take $3 or $5 off your basket, so it seems you should still be able to combine a manufacturer coupon with the basket coupon. The catalina deal was better, but we might still be able to get good deals. I did start buying a lot of household goods at CVS though anyways for half of what I was paying with the P&G catalina promotion, especially Scott brand toilet paper and paper towels.
ReplyDeleteI just wish H-E-B had more basket coupons in general or let you stock coupons. I saved $25 last shopping trip because I had a lot of basket coupons plus I got $10 off. It is so helpful to get $10 off I can't even explain to you.
ReplyDeleteI got the $10 off $30 basket when HEB did the promo for HEB brand home products. I liked that deal. I understand why HEB would change. It makes more sense to have customers purchase their brand rather than P&G. I liked the P&G promo as well. But I'm happy with HEB products and I'll continue to shop there.
ReplyDeleteI will be buying my P&G products elsewhere unless the Catalina comes back. I would stock up on diapers especially and not have to worry for at least 6 weeks. Now someone else will get my business.
ReplyDeleteI personally will still shop at heb it's not like any other stores like target or Walmart offered the Catalina heb does its best to provide their customers with the best service and they even put out coupons whether it's for their own products or others out I get cvs and Walgreens do points and ecb but i Iike my heb
ReplyDeleteDuring the HEB-brands Catalina deal, we tried the HEB "Our Finest" paper towel 12-pack instead of Bounty. I think it's almost as good, but at half the price of Bounty (w/o the PG Catalina).
ReplyDelete"HEB Our Finest" $12.99 X .667 = $8.66
"PG Bounty" $17.47
Not sure if we're ready to switch from Charmin, though...
I find that people are the most brand loyal to toilet paper and soda, but are willing to experiment with almost anything else! lol
DeleteMy name is Maria, wow how sad I personally look forward to the deals and like most, when the deals start its when i buy and stock up! I guess i will have to follow up on walgreens and cvs for deals now I have seen the dollar store do catalinas as well guess i will have to pay attention to them now. So sad i hope they continue the sales.
ReplyDeleteI find catalina promotions overall too complicated to bother with.i work full time and miss a lot of them because they are too hard to keep up with. I would love a better program.
ReplyDeleteThis is very sad! I as well shop at HEB for their P&G products during this promotion. I know there are other deals at other stores that I will have to start looking into. So sad!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe because HEB rather keep the business with their HEB brand they replaced the P&G Catalina with the HEB Catalina. But I too will miss these deals...
ReplyDeleteI finally was getting good at using Catalinas, this is disappointing. I will go wherever I can get the best price, if taking away Catalinas means I have to go elsewhere to do that, that's what will have to happen unfortunately.
