Whether you’re a vegetarian or someone who just enjoys good food (and why wouldn’t you?), Sweet Earth’s Awesome Grounds won’t disappoint.
Plant-based food options are expanding - think Beyond Meat®, Impossible Burger™ - and Awesome Grounds is a great addition.
Texturally and flavor wise, it is spot-on. It not only looks like ground beef, but it also feels and tastes like its beef counterpart.
Specifically, it cooks-up like a 90/10 beef mix; so, lean, but still delicious. There is some light seasoning in the mix, but it benefits from the addition of salt and pepper.
The preparation recommendation for the 12oz package of Sweet Earth Awesome Grounds is three 4oz patties. I opted for two 6oz patties, and enjoyed a hardy pub style burger complimented by Wickles Pickles, sharp cheddar cheese, and classic yellow mustard.
Now, I’ve been told one can’t (shouldn’t) live on burgers alone. If you subscribe to that way of thinking, then it’s good to know Sweet Earth Awesome Grounds can also be utilized as a ground beef substitute in any number of dishes: taco mix, bolognese sauce, shepherd’s pie, and that classic... meatloaf.
And don't forget that Sweet Earth products are on sale at HEB right now -- up to 50% off depending on which item you buy! You can see deal details here.

We got the Sweet Earth Awesome Grounds back in February when it was free after the Ibotta rebate. We have been trying to eat more healthy so we have been trying lots of vegetarian products. We made Tacos last night with it and they came out very good. It almost has a bean like flavor to it, that worked well with the tacos. I would buy this again it's a good alternative to red meat.
