HEB Piggyback Deals: Eckrich Smoked Sausage 63 Cents Each (Normally $2.50!)

Here's a GREAT new stockpile deal available at HEB this weekend on packs of Eckrich smoked sausage!

After piggyback, we can grab these for just 63 cents each -- well under the normal $2.50 shelf price.

First things first: If you're new to HEB couponing, you'll want to go here for my how-to guide to piggybacking.

Otherwise, the following deal won't make much sense:

  • Eckrich Smoked Sausage -- priced at $2.50 per pack, with yellow HEB coupons available in stores starting 8/24 for a free can of Bush's Best Grilling Beans with purchase.
  • Bush's Best Grilled Beans -- priced at $1.99 per can.
  • Buy two packs of sausage and two cans of beans for a pre-coupon price of $8.98.
  • Piggyback the BOGO Eckrich coupon arriving in the 8/28 Red Plum inserts with two yellow coupons for your free beans.  NOTE: The Eckrich coupon is usually regional, so you will probably need to hunt this down outside of your usual newspaper!
  • Remember, you're not stacking coupons in this scenario -- you are buying four items and using three coupons.
  • Your final price drops to $2.50 for all four items, or just 63 cents apiece!
As always, I recommend you have a copy of the current HEB coupon policy printed or pulled up on your phone when you go to check out.

Even though piggybacking is specifically permitted in the HEB coupon policy (as of a year ago, actually!) some cashiers are still not aware of how the policy works.  And trust me, you will save yourself a lot of aggravation if you can refer to it right away at the register!

If you are anxious that you might get some pushback from cashiers or managers -- even though again it is a perfectly legit deal per the coupon policy -- you can always do the following deal instead:
  • Buy two packs of sausage and ONE can of beans for a pre-coupon price of $6.99.
  • Piggyback the BOGO coupon with the yellow coupon for the free beans.  Again, you aren't stacking coupons -- in this scenario, you are buying three items and using only two coupons.
  • Your final price drops to $2.50 for all three items, or just 83 cents per item.
  • That's still an excellent deal for those of you who have picky stores or who get nervous with big hauls!

  1. How is the first scenario only $1.25 final price and not $2.50? I want to do this deal, but want to clarify.
